The Maxsurf suite of programs fall into three basic categories
that
follow our work-flow
from DESIGN through ANALYSIS
to PRODUCTION.

Maxsurf Resistance
Maxsurf Resistance (previously called Hullspeed) directly opens a Maxsurf model, and lets you estimate the resistance and power requirements for any Maxsurf design. A range of industry standard resistance prediction algorithms are included, allowing selection of the appropriate methods for the hull type being considered, whether power or sail.
The wave spectrum can be calculated and rendered as shown above. The results can be exported as tabular data, or plotted to a graph as below.

Other Resistance Analysis Modules
There are several other marine design modules available within the Maxsurf Range, each of which will directly open the native Maxsurf file for further analysis. These programs include:
- AC Rule is for measurement and rating of Americas Cup class yachts.
- Maxsurf VPP (previously called SPAN) is used for sailing performance analysis and
to generate
polar diagrams of vessel speed on different points of sail. Maxsurf
VPP measures the Maxsurf model automatically, and allows hull data
to be entered directly or modified as needed. Once the sail
rig data have been entered, VPP calculates resistance, heeling, and
speed made good at different wind strengths and different points of
sail in order to generate a polar performance diagram as below.
