Hello and welcome to Kasten Marine Design, Inc.
Our primary focus is custom yacht design. Our specialty is the design of motor and sailing yachts for ocean voyaging; luxury charters; and all-around family cruising.
Whether the design will be constructed in wood, steel, aluminum, or composite, our mission is to combine an owner's wishes with graceful aesthetics, human-friendly design, competent analysis, maximum performance, robust structure, and classic form.
One may well ask, "Is it even possible to combine ruggedness and elegance in the same vessel?" We say, "Yes, absolutely!"
Strength, safety, comfort, performance, style, grace... they are all essential attributes of a yacht. These qualities have shaped an approach to yacht design that we call Modern Classic.

Advanced Modeling and Analysis

Computer modeling is the most efficient and accurate means of defining hull form, offering access to powerful design and analysis tools. Once developed, the computer generated model can also be used to define the structural parts of a boat so they can be pre-cut via computer controlled parts cutting.
In addition to being clean and extremely accurate, this "NC" process saves considerable fabrication time for the builder. The result is a higher quality product at a more favorable cost.
